Oh.
My.
Gawd.
Michael Jackson has been acquitted of all charges.
I am stunned, actually. Yes, it is true what they say in law
school - you cannot pick the facts (and when you practice criminal
prosecution, you cannot pick the victims), and yes this victim and his
family definitely weren’t ideal…but still. All that testimony about prior bad acts. That stuff rarely gets
admitted because it is just SO prejudicial. Apparently not in
this case. So, Wacko Jacko the child molester walks free. (And I have no doubt that he IS a child molester).
Great day for the US justice system.
And who says a black man can’t get justice in America?

Tragic.
i totally agree! i am in shock.
Honey, you could be frickin' purple with a giant penis hanging from your neck with a sign saying, "I F'CK LIL' BOYS"... if you have money? You have the ability to purchase the best defense possible.
Remember, that's what you studied in law school, you have an OBLIGATION to provide COUNSEL to someone who is YOUR CLIENT! Even if he's a black man in a white woman's body.
Wishing you well, and Michael Jackson a ticket to Thailand to live with Gary Glitter.
Hi! And thanks for the B'Day wishes. We didn't do anything special other than visiting the local antiques/junk market, an activity befitting my advanced age
But seriously, I'm not into large family gatherings, first of all, I don't have a large family and secondly, I keep a comfortable distance between my relatives and myself.
I followed the outcome of the Wacko case live on CNN. After having heard the verdicts on the first three charges, I knew he was off the hook. I've read some of the transcripts on thesmokinggun.com, andfound the flight attendant's statement on how she had to serve him wine in pepsi diet cans particularly damaging. But then again, it's no evidence in itself. Any single male adult who invites young children into his bad should get what he deserves, and I know you know along what lines I'm thinking in terms of punishment...
RYC: Thanks for explaining the details of US law to me. Comparative law studies have always interested me, so maybe I should resume law school after all, but not at this time in my life. As for the Dutch judge: yep, I know it's unfair, but a Dutch judge is appointed for life by the Crown and generally speaking, a judge over here still enjoys a high degree of implicit respect. Once his reputation is tarnished, whatever the cause, a judge will usually be reassigned to another court district, or must retire (semi-)voluntarily. There's also a chance he'll be assigned to some harmless project, such as supervising a new jurisprudence database or something like that. Not that he's supposed to know anything about it, because when it comes to actually designing and implementing such a system, he'll completely rely on people like me. I've seen it happen lots of times, and I've had several arguments with embittered magistrates who tried to take out their frustrations on their staff. Unfortunately for them, Renée and I went through too much personal sh*te to care about theirs, so I basically told them to f*** off and let me do my job. That usually did the trick.
Have a great day,-Wil
It's all about the money. Look at OJ - he's another rich, famous, guilty as hell black man who walked free and continues to smack his women around. I personally think that any parent who would send their little boy to Neverland needs to have the snot smacked out of them, but then I'm not very forgiving of complete parental stupidity. I wasn't surprised by the verdict, though - and that bothers me most of all. I figured he'd walk - but I sure would like to know what would have happened a few years ago if he hadn't paid off the last kid who came forward. That one must have had a better family? Who knows...
I have no doubt either. I'm not informed enough to even have an opinion on this case, but I heard him say in an inteview once, that he didn't see the harm in sharing his bed with his kid friends. I think that's reason enough to remove him from society.
Thanks! I just wish I could write it in the old English that Mary would have used.
UGH! I came here to comment back and am confronted again with MJ who did an OJ. Pisses me off all over again. Please update. With a stupid cartoon would be good enough LOL.
My guestmap didn't want your pin? The ordassity! (did I spell that right? I'm practising fancy words today).Well, luckily I know exactly where you live, don't need a guestmap for that ~grins~
Maybe it will work better next time you visit!
Who the hell is Michael Jackson?
