So, my husband was unemployed for several months last year.  And he’s unemployed again as of a couple weeks ago, since his contract job ended. 

However, that is not why I am here.

I am here because the unemployment benefits my husband received were subject to income tax.  Excuse me, but WTF?

Hey, sorry you are unemployed – here’s some money.  We know it is less than 1/2 of what you make each month, but we want to help.  And, oh yeah…we’re gonna hit you when you’re down and tax you on it, too!
