  • No grades yet. I was hoping that the BA grade would be posted yesterday, since the darn exam was one of those machine-graded things. I mean, why the delay? He's had a week and a half to get it done. Sheesh.

    Oh well.

In other news, I am helping out at winter graduation this afternoon. 47 of my classmates are graduating early. Lucky them. I will be sad to see them go. Some of them are really good friends of mine, and school won't be nearly as much fun without them.

It is interesting, but several of my friends who are graduating today have taken jobs in various State Attorney offices in Florida. I cannot believe they were so motivated to graduate early just to take a low-paying SA job.

One of the guys, Dave, was a teacher before he came to law school. He is going to be making less as a State Attorney than he made as a teacher, and now has $60,000 in loans to repay. Yikes!

I sure hope I am able to find a job that pays enough to at least be able to cover my loans. That is scary.

I sent 83 resume's to Oregon. I have received back 27 "no thanks" letters. And no responses from the others.

Is it just me, or is that incredibly rude? I mean, I know the resume' was unsolicited, but come ON! It takes next to no effort to send me a letter, and it takes even less effort to send me an e-mail. I even put my e-mail address on the cover letter for just that purpose. And one really nice attorney did respond that way.

    Ugh.

Today is not for stressing about jobs. That is for another day.

Hubby's company has offered him a job at their Northwest plant. We'd be living in Spokane, Washington. It is not Portland, but it is much closer to Portland than Florida. So, we are considering it. I have not applied for bar admission anywhere yet, so things are really open.

    Time for breakfast.

  • Have a great weekend! Do you know anyone in Spokane?

  • 83 resumes?  That's a lot!  Now I am definitely not looking forward to the workforce.

  • That's scary that your friend was making more as a teacher than he will be as an attorney, considering how notoriously low paid teachers are.

  • Wow, he's making less as an attorney than as a teacher?  That is incredible! :(

Spokane?  Sounds beautiful up there!   When do you find out for sure?
