  • We've had snow off and on for about the past four days. We've got more
than 12" of accumulation, and it is snowing again right now. Thankfully
the city here is very good about keeping the roads clear, at least
mostly. Our neighborhood is kind of treacherous, and the street behind
my office building too. But the main roads are pretty much safe - just
    snow and sand on them.

The snow makes me want to hibernate. We
stayed at home all weekend. It was really nice. Some friends of ours
called on Saturday evening and asked if we wanted to go to karaoke, but
there was NO WAY I was going out in the cold and snow. I was warm and
snuggly in my flannel pj's, playing a video game. No need to even leave
the house. Our friends were disappointed, but whatever. Right now, I am
feeling pretty anti-social anyway, so their disappointment didn't even
    phase me.

I'm supposed to go to the volunteer lawyers clinic
tomorrow, and I know that I really need to go. It is good for me to get
out and interact with other attorneys, doing socially important work.
But it is COLD here. And snowing. And it would be good to just stay
home. Yes, I am feeling lazy.

However, I am supposed to meet a
client before the clinic tomorrow, so that is another reason to make
the trip. I have papers for this client to sign, so I can get her
    divorce filed. Fun fun.

Alright. Back to work with me. If I finish early I can go home and get warm.

  • Poor you! Weather like that is only pretty and wonderful when you can stay inside. You do go to work in sensible shoes and change into heels later right?

  • It's time someone invented a press-here-to-inflate-life-size-tropical-island-with-palm-trees thingy. That said, I'm the one who wanders off into the Highlands in February every now and again and sleeps in a tent to see some snow. Voluntarily. Renee says she's afraid that one day they'll return me in a body bag, my own guess is that it'll be a straight jacket ;)

Right now, temperatures hover around 10 degr. C/52 F. and we get a lot of drizzle and wind which pretty much sums up your average Dutch winter. My advice: stay inside and enjoy the view of a REAL winter for me. (((Hugs))) -Wil
