I made it through court without embarrassing myself or my client, and
we got what we were asking for, although there were a few moments of
doubt where it looked like the judge might not grant our motion. It all worked out after I answered a few questions. That Judge
scares me. He's got a reputation for being mean. He wasn't
mean today though. Thankfully. Now, I just have one more client meeting before I can head home for the
day, take a handful of ibuprofen and eat a bunch of chocolate.

Well done! Not that I had any doubts you would do great.
Now get your feet up and take loads of chocolate!
Mmm, chocolate.
A handful of ibuprofen. Hmm. Doesn't sound too good, I hope the chocolate releases enough endorphines to last you this winter. Btw, know what you mean about mean judges. When I retire, I'll devote a shocking behind-the-scenes expose of the judiciary in my memoirs. But even though I got used to the bizarre behaviour of some of them over the years, I'm still wary when I find myself in their presence. Last Tuesday, I had to give a presentation to our board of procurators-general (our equivalent of Alberto Gonzales and his cronies), and even though our attorney-general used to nick my cigarettes before we both quit smoking, he still gives me the jitters in a formal situation like that because that's when he takes on his uber-senior lawyer attitude, which inevitably turns a simple presentation like this into some kind of senate oversight committee hearing. Hugs, -Wil
PS: Texas may be big and sunny, but I find half-freezing to death on some mountain slope in the north-west much more appealing. Must talk to Renée about that before we cross the pond... ;)
Yes. Texas. It's your own fault. We have been fantasizing about living where you are living until you told me about knee-deep snow. LOL At least we would be closer to eachother than we are now.
